What’s On Your Self-Care Menu?
Something I’ve been focusing on lately is self-care.
Not the trendy kind that retailers push, but the deeper kind.
The kind that comes from healing old patterns and choosing myself.
It’s learning to honor my limits instead of pushing past them.
It’s leaning on the simple, familiar joys that always refill my cup.
These are the things that light me up and bring joy to my inner child.
I’m finally giving myself permission to treat them as essential, not optional.
✨ 3 Ways to Make Self-Care Part of Everyday Life
Create Your Self-Care Menu.
Write down a list of small activities that bring you joy—like for me, it's painting, reading, or taking a walk. Keep it visible, and make it a goal to choose at least one “menu item” every day.Build Self-Care into Your Routine.
Pair a self-care practice with something you already do daily. For example, listen to an uplifting podcast while cooking, stretch while your coffee brews, or journal for 5 minutes before bed.Set Gentle Boundaries.
Practice saying no to things that drain your energy. Protecting your time and energy isn’t selfish. It creates space for the things that truly light you up.
🎨 Art Journal Prompt: Design Your Self-Care Menu
Imagine you’re the owner of a cozy little café where the “specials” are all the ways you care for yourself.
Draw a menu board or café sign on your page.
Title it “Today’s Specials: Self-Care.”
Fill the board with your own self-care favorites.
Add doodles or little icons next to each item (a book, a paintbrush, a flower, a cup of tea, etc.).
Highlight the one thing you’ll “order” today.
Circle it, color it in. Make it special.
Reflect in writing: Underneath your menu, jot down a few sentences answering:
“How does this activity refill my cup and nurture my inner child?”
💡 Tip: Keep this page open or revisit it often. Your menu can grow and change with you.

That’s all for this week, friend. I hope something here reminds you to treat yourself with a little extra kindness and to choose at least one thing from your own self-care menu today.
Remember, putting yourself first is not frivolous, it is essential.
Until next time, keep playing, creating, and growing. 💖
